When The Sky Remembered The Flame
When the Sky Remembered the Flame is record of epiphany! let me explain, My first digital print release captures a moment that redefined my path as an artist.
I created this piece after walking along Woolwich Riverside (South East London), lost in a deep sense of melancholy. My latest exhibition had ended, and I was adrift, questioning the future direction of my art. Then, an impossible, bright red light pierced my contemplation. I looked up, and the sky was completely consumed by a raw unfathomable fire red.
The emotional shock was immediate. My body temperature increased, my heart raced, and I was overwhelmed by the sheer, saturated colour of the sun breathing fire into the clouds. I felt a tidal wave of happiness, gratitude and love. In that instant, it felt like a sign, a burning symbol of a new chapter unfolding just before me.
The landscape was permanently etched into my mind. I rushed home, knowing I had to capture that feeling, my intuition insisted on the layered, expressive texture of the digital oil paint brush on my iPad.
As I painted, channelling the intensity of the moment, I subconsciously drew a cloud that took the form of a dragon.
I sat back marvelling at this creation. The meaning was crystal clear. The dragon represents a force of nature, rebirth, and sovereignty. Its wings embody freedom and the fire it carries is the burning passion and desire that reignited my creativity that day.
Without a doubt, this is one of my most meaningful illustrations. I am excited to share this deeply personal moment of awakening with you as a series of limited-edition prints. Own a piece of the moment.
